1930s Tutorial

I finished my 1930s reproduction quilt, so thought I'd share the pattern:

Material needed:
42, 5" squares (charm pack)
6, half-yards of coordinating fabric

From each of the half-yards, cut the following:
7 - 5" strips x 2.75" wide
14 - 7.25" strips x 2.75" wide
7 - 9.5" strips x 2.75" wide

Sew a 5" inch strip on the top of each charm.

Next, sew a 7.25" each strip on the right side (same color as the 5" strip).

Sew another 7.25" strip on the bottom and the 9.5" strip on the left side (same color, but different from the first 2 strips).

Once you have your blocks made (42 of them), you can lay them out anyway you like.  I found this to be the best way, 7 rows x 6 columns.  The top turns out to be 54" x 63".

And now hopefully I made this tutorial correctly!!
